Kivra
KIVRA puts your money at a glance and everyday banking within reach, so you can spend less time finding things and more time getting things done.
Open the app and the essentials are right there: your balance, recent activity, and the actions you use most. Transfers and card controls are easy to find when you need them.
The spending view gives you a clearer picture of where your money goes. Across the app, I kept the screens simple and the next step obvious, whether you’re checking a transaction or moving money.

Why Kivra
Banking apps handle a lot of everyday tasks, but the simplest ones can still take too much effort. Kivra began with a question: what would a banking app look like if opening it, checking your money, and taking the next step all felt straightforward?
User Research
Problems
People often open a banking app for one specific reason: to check a balance, find a transaction, send money, or manage a card. When those actions are buried among too many options, even a quick check becomes a search.
Financial information also needs care in how it is presented. A balance should be easy to spot, transactions should be easy to scan, and the difference between money coming in and going out should be clear at a glance.
Design Goals
• Show the account balance and recent activity as soon as the app opens.
• Keep transfers and card actions within easy reach.
• Make transaction details quick to scan.
• Give spending insights a clear place without crowding the home screen.
Solution
Kivra puts the balance at the top of the home screen, followed by the actions people are most likely to need. Recent activity sits directly below, so users can check what happened without moving to another screen.
I kept the layout simple and used colour to help separate incoming and outgoing transactions. The aim was to make each screen easier to read and each next step easier to find.
Design Process
Stage 01 — Define the Focus
• Picked the core tasks: balance, activity, transfers, and cards.
• Put account information first on the home screen.
Stage 02 —
Map the Flows
• Mapped transfers, cards, and spending insights.
• Kept each step simple and easy to follow.
Stage 03 —
Build the Screens
• Arranged the balance, quick actions, and recent activity.
• Developed the blue palette and reusable UI elements.
Stage 04 —
Refine & Prototype
• Refined labels, icons, and transaction details.
• Checked consistency across the final screens.
